Admission Process

Should your doctor advise treatment that requires hospitalisation, information here will facilitate your admission and help to make your stay with us a pleasant and comfortable experience.

Planning your admission

Please inform the Admissions Office of the date of your proposed admission if this has already been agreed upon between you and your doctor. Otherwise, please discuss and decide with the Admissions Office a suitable date for your admission. The Admissions Office should be contacted well in advance so that necessary formalities and other procedures can be completed prior to your admission.

Accommodation & Meals

NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah offers two grades of accommodation. Luxury Suites and Private Rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and are fully furnished with individually controlled air-conditioning, international direct dial telephones, mini-fridge, and multi-channel satellite television. Please indicate your choice of accommodation to the Admissions Officer who will try to comply subject to availability.

A wide choice of Arabic, Asian and Continental selections are available from the meal service. Vegetarian preferences and other special diets are also catered. Patients' meals are included in the room charge. Meals and refreshments for guests can be ordered at an extra charge.

On the day of Admission

While most surgical patients are admitted on the morning of the planned surgery, some conditions requiring pre-operative preparations and anaesthetic evaluation necessitate coming into hospital a day earlier.

Upon arrival, proceed to the Admissions Office which functions from 07:00 AM to 09:00 PM all seven days of the week. If you arrive after 09:00 PM, please contact the Nurse-In-Charge in the Out-patients Department. After completing necessary documentation, you will be shown to your room.

Personal Requisites

The hospital provides pyjamas and dressing gowns. You may, however, wish to bring your own clothes, bedroom slippers and toiletries. Clothing should be loose and preferably front-opening.

We recommend that you leave all valuables and jewellery at home. Alternatively, a safe deposit box is available for use free of charge. Please contact the Sister Incharge on your floor should you wish to use this facility. Deposits and withdrawals are possible during working hours of the hospital administration.
