Dr Yalda is a distinguished surgeon and healthcare expert with a stellar educational background and a wealth of professional experience. Holding an MPhil (Master of Philosophy) degree specializing in the resection of hepatocellular carcinoma with a focus on perioperative outcomes analysis, Dr Yalda’s commitment to advancing surgical knowledge is evident. With qualifications including Surgical Gastroenterology/HPB from the College of Surgery South Africa, MRCS certification from the Royal College of England, Arab Board Certification in General Surgery, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Dubai Medical College for Girls.
Dr Yalda has served in various critical roles, including Consultant Acute Care and General Surgeon at Groote Schuur Hospital from October 2020 to December 2022, and as an HPB Fellow at the same institution from January 2020 to January 2023. Demonstrating a commitment to healthcare during challenging times, Dr Yalda volunteered as an ICU Specialist covering COVID patients at Sheikh Shakhbout Hospital from June to August 2020. Their contributions extend to Rahba Hospital as a General Surgery Specialist from September to December 2019, and as a General Surgery/HPB Senior Registrar at Mafraq Hospital from August 2017 to August 2019. Dr Yalda’s journey also includes the completion of the SEHA General Surgery Residency Program at ACGME-I Accredited institutions from September 2012 to August 2017.
Dr Yalda’s surgical expertise is extensive and includes independent operations for major and complicated abdominal surgeries, both elective and emergency. They excel in emergency procedures such as laparoscopic appendectomy, diagnostic laparoscopy, trauma surgeries, and acute abdomen surgeries. Proficient in elective GI surgeries such as cholecystectomy, hydatid cyst deroofing, CBD exploration, and liver resection, Dr Yalda’s skills encompass a wide spectrum. They have successfully performed hernia surgeries, endocrine surgeries (thyroid and parathyroid), breast surgeries, and intricate cancer surgeries, including HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) and soft tissue Sarcomas. In addition, Dr Yalda is skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper GI endoscopies, ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), and basic EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound).
